Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh are hand-woven rugs with a long pile, made from plant-dyed wool by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of oil to effectively regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand, strand by strand, by Iranian nomads after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilventilated shade.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
The scent will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Tassels can be removed before shipping

The tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the tassels does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
